Fred Meyer Jewelers

In 1973 Fred Meyer Jewelers was an immediate success when they first started out within Fred Meyer stores. They fast became a top choice jeweler in their own right. But it was not until 1995 when the company acquired 24 jewelry outlets functioning under different names in Washington and California that the real expansion began. A much bigger expansion followed a few years later, resulting in the addition of another 48 stores, giving the company a national presence with outlets spread from Wisconsin to Washington and Maryland to California.

This success was repeated in 1997 when Fred Meyer Jewelers acquired 45 Fox’s Jewelers in 7 Midwestern states. The most recent successful acquisition, however, happened in 1998 when the company acquired a prominent East Coast chain comprised of 123 stores called Littman Jewelers.

Fred Meyer Jewelers is proud to be able to deliver a totally gratifying shopping experience to its clientele, giving them incredible value for their time and money. Making use of this extremely winning combination, the new chain became the third largest retail jewelry chain during a time when most jewelry companies either have closed or considerably shrunk.

What do you need to know to work at jewelry store?

Recently , an adult acquaintance referred me to Fred Meyer’s Jewelers. He was kind enough to talk to the manager and put in some good words for me. I will be interviewing there in a couple days. I dont know much about jewelry. Does anybody have some basic knowledge about jewelry that will help me be more prepared for the interview?

STUDY, Study, Study!!!
Study all about gems and jewels and different types and what they look like.

I suggest going to a library, and get as many books as you can to study.
Don’t take this too calmly, thats a good job to get but you need to know everything you can to help others out.

A tip is to wear some REAL jewerly yourself. Not diamond but others like Garnet. Why? Because it will make you look nicer (you know the ladies there wear jewerly xD) and you can describe quickly if he asks what your wearing.

Good luck hun!
And remember, if you went to a jewerly store, would you want somebody to know nothing about the piece you need help with?
=D
